Czech Science Commission

amending and supplementing Decree No. 198 / 1964 Coll., on the Management of the Award of Scientific Organisations, as amended by Decree No. 161 / 1973 Coll.
The Czech Commission for Scientific Positions in the Agreement with the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, the Federal Ministry of Technical and Investment Development and the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic provides pursuant to § 12 (3) of Act No. 53 / 1964 Coll., on the award of scientific degrees and on the State Commission for Scientific Aspects, as amended by Act No. 2 / 1969 Coll., on the establishment of ministries and other central bodies of the state administration of the Czech Socialist Republic:
Decree No. 198 / 1964 Coll., on the management of the award of scientific degrees, as amended by Decree No. 161 / 1973 Coll., of the Czech Commission for Scientific Positions, is amended as follows:
1. the heading of Part Six shall read:
"RECOGNITION AND NOTIFICATION OF SCIENTIFIC EVENTS AND TESTS"

"(1) The scientific ranks awarded in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics are equivalent to those awarded in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
(2) The diplomas on scientific values issued in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics are valid in the territory of the Czech Socialist Republic if they are accompanied by a verification clause in accordance with the model set out in the Annex to this Decree. Such diplomas recognised in the Slovak Socialist Republic also apply in the Czech Socialist Republic.
(3) The certification clause shall be issued by the Czech Scientific Commission upon presentation of the original diploma of the awarded scientific rank. '
3. Paragraph 43 shall be renumbered to Paragraph 43a and paragraph 1 shall read as follows:
"Scientific degrees obtained in countries other than the USSR are valid in the Czech Socialist Republic through nostalgia."
This Decree shall take effect on 1 September 1974.
