on the establishment of the "Merit for the Protection of the Borders of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic" medal
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic orders in accordance with § 9 paragraph 4 of Act No. 62 / 1962 Coll., on the Lease of Honours:
(1) The "Merit for the Protection of the Borders of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic" medal is hereby established as an honorary recognition for Merit for the Protection of State Borders.
(2) The Medal "For Merit on Border Protection of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic" is awarded for the award of excellent results and extraordinary merits for the protection of state borders; shall be granted in particular:
(a) for bravery and dedication in the detention of intruders of state borders,
(b) for exceptional merit in the management and organisation of border control; and
(c) cooperation and assistance in the protection of national borders.
(1) The Medal "Merit for the Protection of the Borders of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic" can be awarded to border guards, other troops of the Ministry of Interior, members of the National Security Corps, soldiers of the Czechoslovak People's Army, other citizens and citizens of friendly states.
(2) The Medal "For Merit on Border Protection of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic" is awarded by the Minister of Interior of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
(3) At the same time as the medal "For Merit on the Protection of the Borders of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic" is handed over the Charter on its award.
Matters related to the award of the medal "For Merit in the Protection of the Borders of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic" belong to the Federal Ministry of Interior.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication.
