on cultural cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Kingdom of Cambodia
The Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Kingdom of Cambodia was signed in Prague on 27 November 1960.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic approved the Agreement on 5 April 1961. The approval of the Agreement by the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic was communicated to the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia by a note dated 4 May 1961 and its approval by the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia was communicated to the Czechoslovak Government by a note dated 15 February 1961.
Article 8 The Agreement entered into force on 4 May 1961.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
on cultural cooperation

The Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Kingdom of Cambodia
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, seeking to further strengthen friendly relations between the two countries,
striving to achieve closer cooperation between the two countries in the fields of culture, science, art and education,
have decided to conclude this Agreement and to this end have appointed their agents:

Those who exchanged their powers of attorney, whom they found in good and proper form, have agreed as follows:
The two High Contracting Parties will promote the development of cooperation between cultural, scientific, educational, health and social and sports organisations and institutions of both countries.
The two High Contracting Parties shall endeavour to develop the mutual exchange of scientific, educational and cultural workers, as well as other experts, according to their needs and possibilities.
Both High Contracting Parties will seek regular exchange of all-round information on the lives of the people of their countries, especially the exchange of cultural, scientific and artistic publications and magazines through official offices.
Both High Contracting Parties will support tours of groups and individuals representing cultural and artistic life, as well as the organisation of exhibitions, for the mutual recognition of the culture of both countries.
Both High Contracting Parties will promote cooperation between radio, film and television organisations of both countries.
The two High Contracting Parties will support the mutual meetings of athletes of their countries and allow their country to practice as physical education experts of the other High Contracting Party.
When exchanging cultural goods, both High Contracting Parties guarantee each other the protection of copyright.
1. For the implementation of this Agreement, annual plans for cultural contacts shall be negotiated setting out the principles and conditions for the implementation of cultural actions.
2. Both High Contracting Parties will appoint representatives by diplomatic channels who will negotiate a plan for next year by the end of the current year.
3. This Agreement shall be subject to approval under the constitutional requirements of each of the High Contracting Parties and shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of notes on such approval.
4. This Agreement shall be concluded for a period of five years. If none of the High Contracting Parties to the Agreement denies in writing at least six months before its expiry, it shall be extended for a further period of five years.
Done at Prague, 27 November 1960, in duplicate, each in the Czech, Khmer and French languages, the three texts being equally authentic; in the case of a different interpretation, the French text shall be decisive.
