amending and supplementing the Law on National Artists.
The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Republic decided on the following Act:
Čl. I.
Act No. 130 / 1948 Coll., on National Artists, is amended as follows:
1. In Paragraph 1 (1), the words "artist of Czech or Slovak nationality 'are replaced by the words" Czechoslovak citizen'.
2.
"(1) The Government may grant the national artist an honorary pension for life.
(2) The Government may grant the surviving spouse of a national artist or of his dependent children, in the circumstances of particular consideration, to other persons who have taken care of him and have earned favourable conditions for his creative activity, a provision salary.
(3) A retirement pension may be assessed by the government to the national artist in such a way as to include the salary or pension due to him or her in the employment relationship.
(4) The pension and provision salaries referred to in the preceding paragraphs are not to be treated as pensions, in the case of provision salaries within the meaning of the rules on the accumulation of several salaries. "
Čl. II.
This Act shall take effect on the day of its publication; by the Prime Minister.
