adjusting working time to ensure a smooth supply of electricity, gas and heating steam.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Republic orders pursuant to § 41 paragraph 2 of Act No. 241 / 1948 Coll., on the first five-year Economic Plan for the Development of the Czechoslovak Republic (Act on the Five-Year Plan):
Where this is necessary to ensure a smooth supply of electricity, gas or heating steam, the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare may, in agreement with the competent central authorities and with a single trade union decree in the relevant official list, adjust it within the limits of the statutory regulations on the length of working time in the economic business in general or for the various sectors, in the case of the area, the layout of daily and weekly working hours.
Where provided for in the Decree (§ 1), the Regional National Committees may require the persons responsible for managing the plant to transfer regular working hours to other daily or night hours or to working days.
If, as a result of the adjustment provided for in Article 1 or the measure provided for in Article 2, temporary work is to be carried out at night, women over the age of 18 may also be employed during that period. If, for the same reason, work on Saturday afternoon, women can be employed in factory plants that day after 14: 00.
The text of the Decree referred to in Article 1, after the action of the Regional National Committee referred to in Article 2, must be posted in a freely accessible location so that each employee can become familiar with their content.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication and shall expire on 31 December 1953. They shall be carried out by the Minister for Labour and Social Welfare in agreement with the participating members of the Government.
