Decree of the Minister for the Interior
of 16 April 1948
setting a further time limit for applications for the return of Czechoslovak citizenship.
According to Article 3 of the Constitutional Decree of the President of the Republic of 2 August 1945, No 33 Coll., on the regulation of Czechoslovak citizenship of persons of German and Hungarian nationality, I shall establish:
(1) The persons of the Hungarian nationality who, on the day on which the decree takes effect, are resident with their family members or at least one year in the Czech or Moravian-Silesian country, may - like those of their family members - within six months of that date apply for the return of Czechoslovak citizenship, which they have ceased to have under constitutional decree No. 33 / 1945 Coll.
(2) The persons of Hungarian nationality who, after the date on which this decree takes effect, transfer their family members' residence to a municipality of the Czech or Moravian-Silesian country, may - like those of their family members - request the return of Czechoslovak citizenship within six months of the date of transfer of residence.
Applications submitted before the date of application of this Order shall be deemed not to have been lodged.
This decree shall take effect on the day of its publication.
