on the permanent settlement of nomadic persons
The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Republic decided on the following Act:
§ 1
National committees shall provide universal assistance to persons who lead a nomadic way of life in order to move towards a settled way of life; in particular, they are obliged to assist such persons in providing suitable employment and accommodation and to provide educational resources consistently to become ordinary working citizens.
§ 2
The nomadic way of life is led by those who, in groups or individually, wander from place to place and avoid honest work or live in an unfair way, even if they are declared permanent residence in a municipality.
§ 4
In agreement with the central authorities involved, the Minister of the Interior shall issue regulations for the implementation of this Act, in particular, to determine how additional entries into the register will be made, to ensure registration and to identify persons who have led a nomadic way of life.
§ 5
This Law shall take effect on the day of its publication, with the exception of the provisions of Paragraph 3, which shall take effect on 1 March 1959; It shall be implemented by the Ministers of the Interior and Justice in agreement with the participating members of the Government.
