on the Agreement for scientific and technical cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Somalia
The Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Somalia was signed in Prague on 4 June 1961.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic approved the Agreement on 23 August 1961. The President of the Republic of Somalia ratified the Agreement on 9 February 1963 and the Prime Minister of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic confirmed the approval of the Agreement by the Charter of 24 April 1963. The exchange of instruments for the approval of the Agreement was carried out on 4 July 1963 in Mogadishu.
Pursuant to Article 9, paragraph 1, the Agreement entered into force on 4 July 1963.
The Czech translation of the Agreement is announced simultaneously.

AGREEMENT
on scientific and technical cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Somalia
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Somali Republic,
Desiring to further strengthen friendly relations and promote economic relations between the two countries and to develop mutual scientific and technical cooperation to that end,
they have agreed as follows:
The Parties shall cooperate on science and technology issues to their mutual benefit and taking into account the most effective use of the latest knowledge of science and technology for both countries' economic development.
Cooperation under Article 1 of this Agreement shall consist of scientific and technical assistance to be provided by the Parties to each other, in particular:
(a) by mutual transmission of experts and experts in the field of science and technology; and
(b) by enabling theoretical and practical training.
The scope and conditions of scientific and technical cooperation between the two Parties shall be agreed for a certain period of time and shall be laid down in the Protocol.
The scope of the work of experts and advisers, their remuneration and other conditions of their activity shall be agreed in each case between the relevant organisations of the Contracting Parties.
All persons carrying out their duties in the territory of the other Contracting Party under this Agreement shall comply in their activities with the conditions laid down for the performance of their duties and shall refrain from any interference in other matters.
Each Contracting Party shall grant on its territory all possible support necessary for the successful completion of the tasks to be carried out under this Agreement to the members of the other Contracting Party.
Each Contracting Party undertakes not to divulge, without the consent of the other Contracting Party, any specific information obtained in connection with the implementation of this Agreement.
This Agreement shall not apply to experts, technicians, workers and other personnel operating in the territory of the other Contracting Party in the framework of individual contracts for the supply of goods concluded between representatives of the relevant legal and natural persons of both countries.
1. This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of notes on its approval by the Contracting Parties and shall expire six months after one of the Contracting Parties has notified the other Contracting Parties in writing of its intention to terminate this Agreement.
2. In the event of the expiry of this Agreement, the Contracting Parties shall agree before the expiry of this Agreement on how to complete the projects initiated under this Agreement.
