on the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Royal Government of Nepal on cooperation in the field of health and medical science
On 1 March 1979, the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Royal Government of Nepal on cooperation in the field of health and medical science was signed in Kathmandu. The Agreement entered into force on the date of signature pursuant to Article 9 thereof.
The Czech translation of the text of the Agreement is announced simultaneously.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Royal Government of Nepal on cooperation in the field of health and medical science
the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Royal Government of Nepal (hereinafter referred to as the Contracting Parties) in an effort to consolidate friendly relations and cooperation in the field of health and medical science between the two countries,
agree as follows:
The Parties shall develop cooperation and promote mutual exchange of experience in health and medical science.
In particular, the Parties will exchange experience from the preventive care facility, hygiene and anti-epidemic services, health education and the use of medical tools and medicines.
The Parties shall inform each other of congresses and symposia with international participation on health issues and on their territory.
The Parties will exchange lists of medical literature and medical films, illustrative aids and other material from health education and medical science.
In order to combat communicable diseases jointly, the competent authorities and the institutions of the Contracting Parties shall exchange experience on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of such diseases as well as on the epidemiological situation in their country.
In particular, the Parties shall cooperate on the training of health professionals by:
(a) at the request of one of the Contracting Parties, the other Party shall send experts to train health professionals or allow health professionals to train in its facilities;
(b) promote the exchange of doctors and other health professionals for study visits and, where possible, grant scholarships for post-graduate training in a particular field and study certain types of diseases;
(c) exchange teaching aids and teaching experience.
The competent authorities and the facilities of the Contracting Parties shall receive the citizens of the other Party for treatment under conditions to be agreed in the cooperation plans negotiated in accordance with the provisions of Article 8.
For the implementation of this Agreement, the Parties shall agree cooperation plans which shall also include financial and organisational conditions.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of signature and shall remain in force for a period of five years. It shall then be renewed for a further period of five years, unless one of the Contracting Parties denies it in writing six months before the expiry of the current period. This Agreement may be amended with the agreement of both Parties.
