GOVERNMENT REGULATION
of 13 June 1968
on economic security of the Greek State Church
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic orders, pursuant to Act No. 218 / 1949 Coll., on Economic Security of Churches and Religious Companies by the State:
For economic security of the Church of the Greek Catholic State, Government Decree No. 219 / 1949 Coll., on economic security of the Church of the Roman Catholic State applies mutatis mutandis.
Property, which is considered to be property of the Orthodox Church in Czechoslovakia at the date of the entry into force of this Regulation, shall be distributed by agreement between the two churches, which shall be subject to approval by the Regional National Committee. If no agreement is reached within 6 months of the date of entry into force of this Regulation, the Ministry of Culture and Information will decide on the property in Slovakia.
(1) In order to resolve issues related to the activity of the Greek Catholic Church, the Regional National Committees are set up in accordance with the provisions of § 57 of Act No. 69 / 1967 Coll., on National Committees, an Administrative Commission also composed of representatives of both churches.
(2) The Commission is responsible for:
- decide to give consent to the establishment of spiritual places of the Greek Church,
- to decide on the granting of state consent to perform the spiritual activities of the Church of Greek I. and II scale,
- assist in the conclusion of an agreement on the distribution of assets and to approve the agreements concluded, or to submit a decision to the Ministry of Culture and Information (entrustment of the Slovak National Council for Culture and Information) in cases where no agreement is reached.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication.
