Government Regulation
of 19 May 1945
on tender in Czech and Moravian-Silesian countries.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Republic hereby orders the President of the Republic, pursuant to the Decree of 12 November 1944, No 16 of the Official Journal of the Czechoslovak Republic, on the management of the currency and the issue of tender in the liberated territory:
§ 1.
(1) The whole territory of the countries of Czech and Moravian-Silesian countries is:
1. vouchers, denominated in crowns, issued by the Czechoslovak Republic,
2. tender, which is a crown, still used in the territory, called "Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia" at the time of the occupation.
(2) The tender referred to in Nos 1 and 2 is exchanged in a 1: 1 ratio. The Minister of Finance is hereby authorised by decree to determine how the tender referred to above is to be put into circulation in the territory which was incorporated into the German Empire after 29 September 1938 and their exchange ratio to the tender denominated in marks.
§ 2.
The tender, which sounds like Slovak crowns, is not valid in the Czech and Moravian-Silesian countries. The tender referred to in Paragraph 1 (1) under No 2 is not tender in Slovakia.
§ 3.
(1) The tender on the Reich marks and rentenmarks, issued by the German authorities and the Constitution, ceases to be tender on the territory of the Republic, called the "Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia" at the time of the occupation. Such tender may be exchanged for the tender referred to in Section 1, with the permission of the Minister for Finance.
(2) The persons of the Czech and Slovak nationalities may apply the tender referred to in the first paragraph of this paragraph to the postal offices for confirmation, but the composition itself does not give rise to any legal entitlement.
§ 4.
The Minister of Finance is hereby authorised to declare on which date and in what circumference the Czech and Moravian-Silesian countries are no longer paying the tender, which is denominated in the Reich marks and marks issued by the Allied Military Authorities, as well as the tender, which is denominated in the Reich marks or rentenmarks, issued by the German authorities and institutes and circulated in the Czech and Moravian-Silesian countries in a territory other than that referred to in Section 3. The Minister for Finance will declare the way in which the tender will be withdrawn, the validity of which will be cancelled.
§ 5.
The regulation has for that part of the country Czech and Moravian-Silesian effectiveness since it was liberated from the enemy. They shall be carried out by the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Post.
