on a sightseeing reservation in the capital of Prague
The Government of the Czech Socialist Republic orders pursuant to Section 4 of Act No. 22 / 1958 Coll., on Cultural Monuments:
The historical core of the capital city of Prague is declared a landmark reservation ("the reservation").
The scope of the reservation is defined by the cadastral territory of Old Town with Josefov, Malá Strana, Hradčan with Prague Castle and New Town with Vysehrad and parts of adjacent cadastral territories. The reservation border is indicated in the plan annexed to this Regulation.
(1) The following conditions shall be laid down for the construction activity in the reservation:
(a) any modification of real-estate cultural monuments, as well as of their sets and objects, which show partial historical or urban values (objects of historical interest), affecting internal and external architecture, shall be addressed and carried out with a view to the continued security of their material nature, their appropriate social use and further appreciation of artistic and documentary functions;
(b) in the case of new construction and external modifications of non-protected objects, care must be taken for architectural relations with cultural monuments and their files, follow up on their volume and spatial composition and environment and complete their whole with adequate means of contemporary architectural creation;
(c) the solution and implementation of any modifications to the terrain and construction of transport, water, energy, telecommunications, underground and civil engineering networks on the reservation must not interfere with its environment and threaten individual cultural monuments;
(d) the processing, assessment and approval of all territorial plans, competitive tasks and preparatory and project documentation of buildings on the territory of the reservation must be carried out taking into account the cultural value of the environment.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication.
