Government Regulation
of 21 July 1953
on higher education and higher education schools.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Republic orders according to § 16 paragraph 4 of Act No. 31 / 1953 Coll., on the School System and Teacher Education (Education Act):
§ 1.
Higher education schools.
(1) The Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague, its branches in Pilsen and České Budějovice, the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University in Brno, the Faculty of Education of Slovak University in Bratislava and its branches in Banská Bystrica and Prešov are converted into higher education schools on 1 September 1953.
(2) In practical training of students, eight-year secondary schools are added to higher education schools.
University of Education.
§ 2.
(1) On 1 September 1953 a higher education school is established in Prague.
(2) This university is divided into the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
§ 3.
(1) On 1 September 1953 a higher education school in Bratislava is established.
(2) This university is divided into the Faculty of Social Sciences and Natural Sciences and the Faculty of Philosophy, which is located in Prešov.
Final provision.
§ 5.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication; they shall be carried out by the Minister for Education and Education in agreement with the Minister for Higher Education.
