THE LAW
of 21 June 1978
amending and supplementing the Defence Act
The Federal Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic decided on this law:
Čl. I
Law No. 92 / 1949 Coll., as amended (full version No. 20 / 1958 Coll.), is amended as follows:
1.V § 25
paragraph 2 shall read as follows:
"(2) Professionals remain active in military service and generals, officers and battalion officers remain in reserve according to military rank until the following age limits are reached:

For the period laid down in the age limit for the stay in the category 3 reserve, the defence obligation shall be extended for the advance generals (Section 5 (2)). ';
paragraph 3, first sentence is replaced by the following:
"Retired soldiers become generals, officers and ensign who were
(a) released from military active service after reaching the age limits of the Category 3 advance;
(b) transferred to an advance and reached the age limits of a Category 3 advance;
(c) released from military active service for permanent incapacity for military active service. ';
2. In Paragraph 39 (2), the word "officers' is replaced by the words" generals, officers and officers'.
3. Paragraph 83, including the title, reads:
„§ 83
Interpretation of certain terms
Unless otherwise provided for in this law, "officers, officers, soldiers, soldiers, soldiers and volunteers" also means "officers, officers, petty officers, officers, officers, petty officers, officers, petty officers, soldiers, soldiers, soldiers, soldiers, soldiers and volunteers," and "men and women."
Čl. II
This law also applies to professional soldiers admitted to service under the current regulations and their obligation to continue the service remains unaffected. The release of such soldiers from the service shall be governed by special regulations 1)
Čl. III
The Bureau of the Federal Assembly is hereby authorised to declare in the Collection of Laws the full text of the Defence Act, as is apparent from the later regulations.
Čl. IV
This Act shall take effect on 1 January 1979.
