THE LAW
of 18 June 1965
on travel documents
The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic decided on this law:

ODDÍL PRVNÍ

Travel documents
§ 1
(1) Citizens of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic may cross the national borders of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic or stay abroad only with a valid Czechoslovak travel document.
(2) The travel document shall contain the essential details of the identity of the citizen and the indication for which States, for how many journeys and for what period they pay.
§ 2
Travel documents shall be drawn up in Czech or Slovak and in one or two foreign languages, as appropriate.

ODDÍL DRUHÝ

Issue of travel documents
§ 3
Travel documents shall be issued by the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the authorities empowered by them. Such authorities may also extend or extend the validity of travel documents.
§ 4
(1) The issue of a travel document may be denied to citizens,
(a) whose travel abroad would not be in accordance with State interests;
(b) against which criminal proceedings are conducted;
(c) who have been convicted of an offence if they are not regarded as having been convicted or if the conviction has not been exterminated;
d) who, while abroad, have damaged the reputation of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
(2) The travel document issued may be withdrawn or limited for the reasons referred to in paragraph 1. The travel document may also be withdrawn if the purpose of the journey for which it was issued has been lost.

Final provisions
§ 5
The provisions of this law also apply to stateless persons who are permanently present in the territory of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
§ 6
The provisions of the Law on Foreign Travel and eviction remain unaffected.
§ 7
The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall issue more detailed provisions for the implementation of this Act, specifying in particular the types of travel documents, the duration and the territorial scope of their validity and the manner in which applications for extradition are submitted.
§ 8
They shall be deleted:
1. Act No. 53 / 1949 Coll., on passports;
2. Act No. 71 / 1922 Coll., on Immigration;
3rd Government Decree No. 170 / 1922 Coll., implementing the Immigration Act;
4. Government Decree No. 66 / 1963 Coll., on the regulation of the jurisdiction in the matters of passports.
§ 9
This Act shall take effect on 1 August 1965.
