on the Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Polish People's Republic on the extension of the tourist area and amending the various provisions of the Convention between the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic and the Government of the Polish People's Republic on Border Tourism, signed in Prague on 6 September 1955 and amended by an Exchange of Note on 20 May 1961 (Decree of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of 28 June 1956, No 29 / 1956 Coll. and Decree of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of 4 July 1961, No 80 / 1961 Coll.)
In exchange for a note, approved by the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic on 25 April 1962, an agreement was negotiated and on 1 June 1962 an agreement was entered into between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Polish People's Republic on the extension of the tourist area and the amendment to the individual provisions of the Convention between the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic and the Government of the Polish People's Republic on border tourism signed in Prague on 6 September 1955 and amended by the Exchange of Note on 20 May 1961 (No 29 / 1956 Coll. and No 80 / 1961 Coll.).
The text of the Note of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic of 3 May 1962, which also contains the Czech translation of the Note of the Ambassador of the People's Republic of Poland in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, is being published at the same time.

Dear Comrade Ambassador,
I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your note of 3 May 1962 as follows:
"I have the honour to confirm that during the negotiations in Warsaw between 30 January and 3 February 1962, in a spirit of full mutual understanding and brotherly friendship between the peoples of the People's Republic of Poland and the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, it was agreed to extend further the tourist areas of the Convention on Border Tourism, signed in Prague on 6 September 1955 and amended by a note exchange on 20 May 1961, and therefore to amend Articles 2 and 3 of that Convention in accordance with Article 14 thereof as follows:
The following territories (hereinafter referred to as "tourist regions') are defined for border tourism:
In the Republic of Poland:
I. Tourist region Dukla:
It includes the territory along the road from the Dukel Pass through Barwinek, Tylaw, Trzciana and Lipowiec to Dukla, including Dukla with the surrounding municipalities of Teodorówka, Nadol, Zboiskami, Cergowa and Zakluczyn.
II. Tatra Tourist Region:
the territory bounded by a line beginning at the point at which the journey from Boboba to Jablonka crosses the national border and taking place further along the road via Jablonka, Podwilk, Szákowice, Rabka, Lower Mszanu, Tymbark, Tegoborze, Limanowou, Wytrzyszczek, Rozkotu, Dabrowou, Nowy Sacz, Stary Sacz, Golkowice and along the Danube to the national borders.
III. Klodzko Tourist Region:
the territory bounded by a line beginning at the point where the road from Božanov to Radków overloads the national border and continuing along the road via Radków to Šcinawka Šrední and along the railway via Klodzko, Bardo, Kamieniec Zabkowicki to Otmuchowa and from Otmuchowa on the road via Packzków, Zloty Stok, Klodzko, Bystrzyci Klodzka, Domaszków, Rozanku and Colony Lesica to the state border.
IV. Tourist region of Giant Mountains:
the territory bounded by a line running from the border crossing in Jakuszyce along the railway via Szarska Poreb, Piechowice, Cieplice Zdrój and Jelení Gór, and along the road through Kowary to the point where the road from Przeleczy Okraj meets it, and then along this road to Przeleczy Okraj.
In the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic:
I. Tourist region Dukla:
It includes the area along the road from Dukel Pass through the Vyšné and Nižní Komárník, Krajna Polana, Hunkovce and Ladomírová to Svidník, including the Dukel Monument and the Cemetery, the observation tower at the stone 153 / 3, the stations I and III of the Czechoslovak Brigade and the observation platform at the Nižé Komárník, and the area along the road from the intersection between Ladomírová and Svidník via Kapisová Pisaná and from there to the Vyšné Pisaná Pisaná and via Dnehiněna to Havranice.
II. Tatra Tourist Region:
Includes the territory bounded by a line drawn from the point where the road from Jablonka to Bobroja intersects the state border, on this road to Bobrova and from there on the road south from Zubrohluh to Námestov and further through the Ústi, Hardošín, Trstenou, Orava Podzamok, Dolní Kubín, Kraľovany, Ružomberok, Liptovský Mikuláš - with access to the road to Demänovský caves and the exit to Chopok - further from Liptovský Mikuláš along the road and the railway via Liptovský Hramovok, Vážec - and Tatranské Kotlíc - including the Vášské Vela, and Tatranské Hanušovka to Spišovka, and from to the road to the road to the State.
III. Tourist region of Giant Mountains:
the territory bounded by a line running from the point where the journey from Jakuszyc to Harrachov crosses the state border, along the road leading through the New World, Lower Rokytnice, Tracksuit, Hrabachev, Vrchlaby, Clean, Leopold, Young Buky, Freedom over Úpa, Lower and Upper Maršov, Little Úp and via the border bogs to state borders in the pass.
1. In the tourist area of Krkonoše, the road of Polish-Czechoslovak friendship leading to the ridges of Krkonoše at the Polish-Czechoslovak state border is opened from the place where the road Krzaczyna - the border intersects with the border, via Snezka, Malá a Velka Šišák and Snežné Jáma to Szrenice. Citizens of both countries can use this journey for identity cards and other identity cards for school youth.
2. From the Polish tourist region of Tatry can be undertaken Czechoslovak organised bus tours by agreement of the respective organizations of both countries to Oświecima on the way from Chabówka via Jordanów, Suchou, Wadowice and Zator, or to Krakowa and Wieliczky on the way from Chabówka via Myślenice. The duration of each such trip cannot exceed one day. "
I have the honour to say that the Government of the People's Republic of Poland agrees with what has been mentioned above. At the same time, I have the honour to propose that, if the Czechoslovak Socialist Government agrees to these amendments to the Convention, this note and your reply to it should form an agreement between both our governments on this matter and that these amendments should take effect on 1 June 1962.
