Constitutional Decree of the President of the Republic
of 24 August 1945
on the preparation of the implementation of the Treaty between the Czechoslovak Republic and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on Zakarpatsky Ukraine of 29 June 1945.
On the proposal of the Government and in agreement with the Slovak National Council, I establish:
The Government hereby authorises the Government to prepare for the implementation of the Treaty of 29 June 1945 between the Czechoslovak Republic and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on Zakarpatsky Ukraine (pursuant to Section 3 of the Constitutional Charter entitled Podkarpatská Rus), in particular to adjust the exercise of the option for citizenship of the Czechoslovak Republic.
The provisions of the Constitutional Charter and other laws which are not in conformity with the Treaty referred to in Paragraph 1 and with the Government Regulations issued under this Constitutional Decree shall cease to apply on the date on which the Treaty enters into force.
This constitutional decree shall take effect on the day of its publication; it shall be carried out by all members of the Government.
