Government Regulation
of 17 May 1945
concerning certain measures in the supply of food to the population.
With the consent of the President of the Czechoslovak Republic, the Government hereby orders, pursuant to § 138, paragraph 1 of the Act of 13 May 1936, No 131 Coll., on State Defence:
§ 1.
(1) Any advantage enjoyed by members of the German nationality (i.e. Reich-German citizens) in the supply of food and in the purchase of food shall be abolished with immediate effect.
(2) A member of German nationality within the meaning of this Regulation shall be considered to be any person who has been registered as a German in the III domestic certificate, i.e. marked "D '.
(3) Except for others, the members of the German nationality (paragraph 2) receive the food levy that the Jews had; they cannot also become self-caterers of food and, if they are already self-suppliers, they become ordinary consumers after the end of the period of self-supply.
(4) The members of German nationality are obliged to return the food tickets issued to them for the 75th allocation period, a municipality which will exchange them for the remainder of the allocation period for food tickets with the overprint "JUDE '.
(5) Members of the German nationality of the antitinetic mind who prove that they have remained faithful to the Czechoslovak Republic and that they have actively participated in the fight for its liberation may request that the provisions of paragraphs 3 and 4 do not apply to them. Their request shall be definitively decided by the Regional National Committee after the completion of the local National Committee.
§ 2.
(1) Any restrictions on the supply and purchase of food declared against Jews will cease to apply.
(2) Consumers who have been issued for the 75th allocation period food tickets with the overprint "JUDE," either immediately after returning the old tickets the corresponding new food tickets received by consumers of Czech nationality.
§ 3.
(1) All Reich food stamps are to cease to be valid immediately in the territory of the Czechoslovak Republic.
(2) Consumers who return to the Czechoslovak Republic must register for food supplies with the municipality of permanent residence, which for the remainder of the respective allocation period will issue tickets to food belonging to them. In any event, when applying for food supplies, a police application must be submitted for permanent residence in the municipality.
§ 4.
Transfers against the provisions of this Regulation shall be prosecuted and punished in accordance with the provisions currently in force.
§ 5.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication; they shall be carried out by the Minister of Nutrition.
