THE LAW
of 21 February 1996
concerning the seat of the Parliament of the Czech Republic
Parliament has decided on this law of the Czech Republic:
BASIC PROVISIONS
Parliament is based in the capital of the Czech Republic.1)
In order to ensure the operation of the two chambers of Parliament, (2) their institutions, Members, Senators, the Office of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate Office serve the objects listed in the annexes to this Act. These objects in their entirety form the seat of Parliament.
The seat of Parliament is owned by the Czech Republic.
Parliament's seat is a national cultural monument. The conditions for its protection shall be laid down by the Government of the Czech Republic by a regulation which it shall adopt no later than three months after the date of entry into force of this Act.

(1) The Office of the Chamber of Deputies, which is a budgetary organisation.3)
(2) The Head of the Chamber of Deputies is its Head.
The right to manage the objects listed in Annex 1 shall be the responsibility of the Office of the Chamber of Deputies.
SENATE
(1) In order to ensure the tasks associated with the professional, organisational and technical security of the activities of the Senate, its bodies and officials, Senators and political party clubs represented in the Senate, the Office of the Senate, which is a budgetary organisation, establishes the effective date of this Act.
(2) The Head of the Senate Office is its Head.
(1) The right of management of the objects listed in Annex 2 is the responsibility of the Senate Office.
(2) The Government shall ensure the transfer of objects not yet used by Parliament within three months of the date of entry into force of this Act.
TRANSITIONAL AND FINAL PROVISIONS
The President of the Chamber of Deputies shall appoint the Head of the Senate Office until the Senate is elected. 4)
The Act of the Czech National Council No. 465 / 1992 Coll., on the seat of the Czech National Council is hereby repealed.
This Act shall take effect on 1 March 1996.
