Decree of the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic on the stamping of Czechoslovak ducats on the 600th anniversary of the death of Charles IV.

Czechoslovak Socialist Republic
of 27 April 1978
on the stamping of Czechoslovak ducats for the 600th anniversary of the death of Charles IV.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic orders pursuant to Section 5 of Act No. 76 / 1976 Coll., on the stamping of Czechoslovak ducats:
(1) On the occasion of the 600th anniversary of the death of Charles IV, Czechoslovak ducats ("ducats") are established.
(2) Dokats are treated as simple, double ducats, five ducats and ten ducats of alloy containing 9861 / 9 parts of gold and 138 / 9 parts of copper. In the case of stamping, a tolerance of not more than one thousand above or below the specified mass and purity shall be allowed.
(1) The simple weight is 3,4909 g with a pure gold content of 3,4420 g, diameter 19,75 mm and its edge is finely serrated.
(2) On the front of the simplicity is the state emblem of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. The name of the State "CZECH SOCIALISTIC REPUBLIC" is in a copy from the left down in two unclosed circles. In the middle of the state emblem is the year of the strike.
(3) On the reverse side of the simplicity is a portrait of Charles IV in the right three-quarters profile. On the left of the portrait is a Gothic shield with a Czech lion, on the right in the level of the forehead is the initials "K." At the edge of the coin on the bottom right is the name "KAREL IV." On the top right is the number "1346-1378." Except where the sculpture of the crown and the decorated garment touches flat frames, there is a small perlite on the circumference of the reverse side.
(4) The mark "F" by the author of the design of the academic sculptor Peter Formánek is placed on the reverse side under the portrait.
(1) The duodenum has a mass of 6,9818 g with a pure gold content of 6,8848 g, a diameter of 25 mm and its edge is finely grafted.
(2) On the front of the double ducate is the state emblem of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, below is the value number "2." The name of the State "CZECH SOCIALISTIC REPUBLIC" is in a copy from the left up in a closed circle decorated on the inner and outer circumference with a small pearl. In the middle below the value number "2" is the year of the "1978" stamping.
(3) On the reverse side of the double ducate is shown the front of the royal seal of Charles IV, representing the monarch sitting on the throne holding an apple in his left hand and the right scepter. In the copy from right to down in a closed circle decorated on the outer and inner circumference by a small pearl, the Latin text is "KAROLUS ● DEI ● GRA ● ROMANOR ● REX ● SEMPER ● AUGUSTUS"; on the sides of the throne on the right is the text "ET ● REX," left "BOEMIE."
(4) The brand "A ● P" by the author of the academic sculptor Andrei Peter is placed on the reverse side next to the right foot of the ruler.
(1) The 5-ducat has a weight of 17,4545 g with a solid gold content of 17,2120 g, a diameter of 34 mm and a fine grafted edge.
(2) On the front of the five ducats is the state emblem of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. The name of the State "CZECH SOCIALISTIC REPUBLIC" is in a copy from the right to the bottom in a closed circle. On the sides of the national emblem are double circular sections. In the middle under the national emblem is the year of the "1978" stroke, the value number "5" below.
(3) On the reverse side of the five ducats is depicted the central motive of the seal of the university community of the University of Prague from the middle of the 14th century, on which Charles IV hands Prince Václav the charter of the University. On the sides are symbols of individual faculties. In the copy from left up is the Latin text "UNIVERSITAS CAROLINA PRAGENSIS." The year is "1348" down at the edge.
(4) The mark "zk" by the author of the design of the academic sculptor Zdeněk Kolářský is placed on the reverse side to the right of the pedestal with characters.
(1) The decimal is 34,9090 g with a pure gold content of 34,4240 g, a diameter of 42 mm and its edge is finely serrated.
(2) On the front of the 10-ducate is the state emblem of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. The name of the State "CZECH SOCIALISTIC REPUBLIC" is in a copy from the right to the bottom in a closed circle. On the sides of the national emblem are double circular sections. In the middle under the national emblem is the year of the "1978" stroke, the value number "10" below.
(3) On the reverse side of the 10-ducate is the panorama Hradčan with Charles Bridge. In the lower part is the city emblem of Prague. In the copy from left up is the Latin text "PRAGA ● MATER ● URBIUM."
(4) The mark "zk" by the author of the design of the academic sculptor Zdeněk Kolářský is placed on the reverse side of the ten ducats left of the city sign Prague.
(1) In 1978, there are 20,000 simple ones and 10,000 double ducats, five ducats and ten ducats.
(2) In the years 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982, 10 000 simple ones with the respective year of embossing are settled.
(3) The mine is run by the State Mint in Kremnice.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication.
