THE LAW
of 9 July 1963
on national artists
The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic decided on this law:
The President of the Republic may declare a Czechoslovak citizen whose artistic activity has been consistently enriched by national culture by its particularly excellent level and its extraordinary importance, in recognition of his activity as a national artist. This can also happen in memoriam after the artist's death.
The National Artist will receive the title "National Artist" with a state seal and signed by the President of the Republic.
General regulations apply to the method of lending, loss and withdrawal of the honorary title "national artist." *) The loss and withdrawal of the title shall result in the loss of the rights attached to it or on its basis.
For the purposes of this Regulation, the following definitions apply:
Act No. 130 / 1948 Coll., on National Artists, as amended by Act No. 79 / 1953 Coll., is repealed.
This Act shall take effect on the day of its publication.
