on the validity of the Decree of the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic of 20 April 1943, No 5 of the OJ establishing the Czechoslovak Military Medal for Merit.
According to Article 2 of the Constitutional Decree of the President of the Republic of 23 June 1945, No 22 Coll., on the publication of laws, issued outside the territory of the Czechoslovak Republic, I declare:
Čl. I.
According to the Resolution of the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic of 5 March 1946, the Decree of the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic of 20 April 1943, No 5, remains the case. in writing., establishing the Czechoslovak Military Medal for Merit, and the Statutes, annexed to the Regulation, in force.
Čl. II.
Decree-Law No 5 / 1943 of the European Parliament and the Statutes shall be published in the Annex.

With the approval of the President of the Czechoslovak Republic, the Government hereby orders, pursuant to § 1 of the Law of 21 October 1936, No. 268 Coll. on Regulations and Titles:
The Czechoslovak Military Medal for Merit on Two Degrees is established as a military medal for Czechoslovak Army members for outstanding military acts outside the fight. This medal may also be awarded to members of the Allied armies.
Further provisions include the statutes of these honours.
This Regulation shall enter into force on 20 April 1943. Its implementation is imposed on the Minister of National Defence as regards the award of honours to foreigners together with the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Czechoslovak military medals for merit.
The Czechoslovak Military Medal for Merit is established by decision of the Czechoslovak Government as a visible military medal for Czechoslovak army members for outstanding merit of the Czechoslovak army outside the fight.
The Czechoslovak military medal for merit has two degrees: The medal of the first degree is silver, the medal of the second degree is bronze. It is reserved for members of the Czechoslovak army and members of the Allied armies for military acts and merit for the Czechoslovak army, performed outside the fight.
Description of Czechoslovak Military Medal for Merit:
The difference between the two ranks is only that the first degree is silver; the second degree is bronze.
The diameter of the medal is 34 mm. On the face of the medal are three bosom Czechoslovak private with Czechoslovak helmet. In the upper part of the medal, parallel to its edge, there is the inscription "ZA DUTY," at the lower part of the medal, parallel to the edge of the medal, the inscription ČSR.
The back of the medal has a lip branch in the middle, surrounded by 8 mm diameter intercircles.
The hanging of the medal is made in the form of two crossed swords of 23 mm length from the same metal as the medal.
The Czechoslovak Military Medal for Merit ribbon is 34 mm wide, 38 mm long, in the basic blue color. The white stripe is 8 mm wide at 2 mm from the edges.
The Czechoslovak Military Medal for Merit is carried on the left side of the breast, under Czechoslovak honours from the War 1914- 1918 and behind the Czechoslovak honours so far established.
If only the Czechoslovak military medal is decorated for merit, the first degree of the medal is marked with a silver star with a diameter of 5 mm.
The Czechoslovak Military Medal for Merit can also be awarded to Allied Army members for military acts and merits outside the fight.
The Czechoslovak military medal is awarded for life and free of charge. In the event of death of a decorated person, the Czechoslovak Military Medal for Merit is left in memory of the survivors. In the event that the deceased owner of the survivors' honours is not, the honours are returned to the Ministry of National Defence.
The Czechoslovak Military Medal for Merit loses a decorated medal if he has been sentenced by court for such a crime, which in turn has lost domestic and foreign military and civil honours and honorary badges. In such a case, the defendant is obliged to return the honours to the Ministry of National Defence.
The Czechoslovak Military Medal for Merit is awarded by the President of the Czechoslovak Republic on a proposal from the Government, made at the request of the Minister of National Defence.
