DECLARATION
of 15 December 2020
laying down the activities to be carried out by a doctor without professional supervision after obtaining a certificate of completion of the baseline ophthalmological strain
According to § 37 (1) (k) for the implementation of § 4 (4) (a) of Act No. 95 / 2004 Coll., on the conditions for obtaining and recognising professional competence and specialised competence for the pursuit of the medical profession of physician, dental practitioner and pharmacist, as amended by Act No. 67 / 2017 Coll.:
After obtaining a certificate of completion of the baseline ophthalmological strain, the doctor may perform without professional supervision:
(a) testing the front segment of the eye on the slit lamp;
(b) examination of the rear segment of the eye by direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy and biomicroscopy;
(c) measuring intraocular pressure by contactless tonometry and aplanation tonometry;
(d) examination of the visual field and evaluation of the perimetric findings;
(e) an examination and evaluation of the ophthalmic coherent tomography;
(f) testing and evaluation of fluorescent angiography and indocyanine greenery,
(g) examination of oculomotor balance;
(h) gonioscopy;
(i) ultrasonography;
(j) biometric and ocular lens calculations;
(k) examination of pupil reactions,
(l) exophthalmometry, assess the position of the eye in orbit,
(m) examination of the tear film,
(n) examination of corneal sensitivity, thickness and topography;
(o) examination of colour,
(p) examinations, flushes and probes;
q) perform routine procedures on periocular tissues, namely skin excision, removal of stitches, militias, veg, xantelasmat, ectropium, entropium and small tumours,
(r) carry out the excochulation of chalasia;
s) perform laser performances, namely iridotomy, YAG capsulotomy, retinal photocoagulation, selective laser trabeculoplasty,
t) swab the conjunctival bag, remove the material to examine the aetiology of the corneal infection.
After obtaining a certificate of completion of the baseline ophthalmological strain without professional supervision, the doctor may also:
(a) indicate and interpret basic imaging methods and laboratory tests;
(b) indicate medicinal products and medical devices except radiopharmaceuticals and cytostatics;
(c) determine visual acuity and correction of refractive defects, prescribe glasses corrections,
(d) remove the foreign body from the surface of the eye;
e) apply therapeutic contact lenses,
f) sew common wounds on the eyelids and conjunctiva and extract skin, conjunctival and corneal stitches and perform minor procedures on the conjunctiva,
(g) administration of the periocular, subconjunctival and intravitrean injections.
Efficacy
This Decision shall enter into force on 1 January 2021.
