on the conditions under which banknotes, coins, cheques, securities and credit cards may be reproduced and the production of articles imitating them
Czech National Bank provides according to § 22 (e) of the Czech National Council Act No. 6 / 1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank:
§ 1
(1) This decree regulates the conditions under which banknotes, coins, cheques, securities and credit cards can be reproduced and the production of objects that imitate them by modification.
(2) This decree does not apply to euro coins.
§ 2
(1) The production of material reproductions of valid banknotes and banknotes that can be exchanged for valid banknotes (hereinafter referred to as "banknotes") and the production of objects that mimic the banknotes by modification (hereinafter referred to as "counterfeit banknotes") may, if:
(a) unilateral reproductions of banknotes and counterfeit banknotes the length of which does not exceed 75% of the length and width of the banknote, or not less than 125% of the length and width of the banknote,
(b) bilateral reproductions of banknotes and imitation banknotes the length of which does not exceed 50% of the length and width of the banknote, or at least 200% of the length and width of the banknote,
(c) unilateral reproduction of banknotes and imitation of parts of banknotes not exceeding 33% of the area of the banknote in such a way that it is not possible to complete the banknote from each part;
(d) unilateral reproduction of banknotes and imitation banknotes on which the longer and shorter sides hold an angle of 20 degrees or less than 90 degrees;
(e) the reproduction of banknotes and imitation of banknotes from material not interchangeable with the material from which the banknote is produced;
(f) reproduction of individual graphic features of banknotes, unless this graphic item is shown in the background resembling a banknote.
(2) The production of intangible banknote reproduction and imitation banknotes may be made if, while maintaining the banknote size, they have a resolution of not more than 72 image points per inch and are provided diagonally in a layer inseparable from the display of the banknote by marking "Specimen 'in an opaque colour of at least 75% of the longer side of the banknote and a height of not less than 15% of the shorter side of the banknote, or by another inscription of equivalent size.
§ 3
The production of reproductions of valid coins and coins that can be exchanged for valid coins (hereinafter referred to as "coins") and the production of objects that by way of modification imitate coins (hereinafter referred to as "imitation coins") may be made in those cases where they are material reproductions of coins and imitations of coins made of material not interchangeable with the material from which the coin is produced or immaterial images.
§ 4
Unmistakable material for banknotes is material other than paper, plastic or other materials used for the production of banknotes and, in the case of coins, material other than metal, or metal in colour, if the product made of it cannot, due to its physical and chemical characteristics, be used instead of coins in automatic machines.
§ 5
Reproductions of cheques, securities and credit cards and the production of objects imitating them by modification may be made only with the consent of the issuing person.
§ 6
The Order of the Czech National Bank No. 36 / 1994 Coll., on the conditions under which banknotes, coins, cheques, securities and credit cards can be reproduced and the production of objects that imitate them by modification is deleted.
§ 7
This Decree shall take effect on 1 January 2007.
