providing for exceptions to the obligation to negotiate in writing contracts for the dissemination of literary, scientific and artistic works
The Ministry of Culture of the Czech Socialist Republic provides according to § 22 paragraph 4 of the Copyright Act No. 35 / 1965 Coll.:
(1) In writing, contracts for the publication of a literary, scientific or artistic work in the periodical press and in the news or publicity broadcasts of a radio or television organisation need not be negotiated if the author has either created the work directly on order or has made it on his own initiative and has offered it to be published, unless it is a gradual publication of the work in parts (to be continued) or an imprint of the musical work with or without text.
(2) Contracts need not be further negotiated in writing
(a) the public presentation or other use by its author of the work of literary or scientific literature;
(b) the exhibition of works of art or photography at the exhibition, with the exception of travelling exhibitions.
Paragraph 1 is without prejudice to the obligation to:
a) the user obtain the author's permission to use the work (§ 14 of the Copyright Act);
(b) the organisers comply with the conditions for the organisation of a lecture, concert or other musical production, theatre or similar performance or exhibition, which provides for special regulations 1)
This decree shall take effect on the day of its publication.

1) Decree No. 99 / 1958 Ú. l., on the authorisation of public concert and other musical productions, public productions of estradic and artistic, folk entertainment companies, certain theatre performances, exhibitions, lectures and film performances and on the exclusive authorisation of copyright protection organisations.
