on the Cultural Cooperation Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Ghana
On 23 November 1960 the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Ghana was signed in Accra.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic approved the Agreement on 1 March 1962. The approval of the Agreement by the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic was communicated by a note dated 14 March 1962 to the Government of the Republic of Ghana and its approval by the Government of the Republic of Ghana also by a note dated 14 March 1962.
Pursuant to Article 10 thereof, the Agreement entered into force on 14 March 1962.
The Czech translation of the Agreement is announced simultaneously.

AGREEMENT
on cultural cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic
and the Republic of Ghana
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Ghana (hereinafter referred to as the "Parties' in this Agreement), desiring to develop cooperation in all areas of culture, education, science and art to expand and consolidate contacts between the two countries based on mutual friendship and understanding, have decided to conclude this Agreement and have agreed as follows:
The Parties shall promote the development of cultural contacts between the two countries and contribute to the mutual recognition of the cultural wealth of the two countries and the progress made in the fields of culture, education, science and art.
The Parties shall promote cooperation and exchange of information and experience between cultural, educational, scientific, health, artistic and social organisations and institutions of both countries and shall in particular facilitate the mutual transmission of university professors, teachers of vocational schools and other persons active in the fields of education, science and culture, as well as artists and students.
Each Contracting Party shall grant scholarships and other advantages to members of the other Contracting Party to study at its higher, artistic and professional schools.
The Parties shall, as far as possible, encourage the organisation of sporting competitions between members of their countries and the mutual broadcasting of athletes.
Each of the Contracting Parties will support the presentation of musical, theatre and film works, the organisation of lectures and exhibitions and the publication of translations of major works of scientific and artistic literature of the other country.
The Parties shall promote mutual cooperation in the fields of radio, television, film and printing and facilitate the exchange of scientific, cultural, artistic and educational publications, films, music records, music material and works of the other country.
Each Party shall consider the issue of recognition of diplomas and degrees awarded in the other country. If the Contracting Parties deem it necessary, they shall negotiate a specific agreement to that effect.
Each Party shall promote the teaching of the history and geography of the other country and the dissemination of knowledge about the other country in its schools and information facilities. Each Party shall ensure that textbooks used in its country's schools do not contain incorrect data on the other country.
In order to implement this Agreement, the Contracting Parties will always negotiate cultural cooperation plans for a specific period of time.
1. This Agreement shall enter into force on the date on which both Parties confirm in exchange that the Agreement has been approved in accordance with the respective constitutional provisions of the Contracting Parties.
2. The Agreement shall expire one year after one of the Contracting Parties has notified the other Contracting Party in writing of its intention to terminate the Agreement.
