Czech National Council
of 7 July 1971
on elections to the Czech National Council
The Czech National Council decided on this law:
§ 49
(1) If, for any reason, the mandate of a Member has disappeared, the Bureau of the Czech National Council shall issue a supplementary election and determine the date of its performance.
(2) The supplementary elections shall take place no later than 90 days after the Member's mandate has expired.
(3) The provisions of this Act apply to supplementary elections, with time limits being reduced accordingly.
(4) The Central Committee of the National Front of the Czech Socialist Republic may elect the Czech Election Commission of the National Front for the entire term of the Czech National Council.
(5) Supplementary elections need not be held in the last year before the end of the term.
