Communication from the Czech Statistical Office No. 512 / 2021 Coll.

The Czech Statistical Office pursuant to § 19 (2) of Act No. 89 / 1995 Coll., on the National Statistical Service, announces with effect from 1 January 2022 the update of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10).

The Czech Statistical Office issued the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10) by Communication No. 495 / 2003 Coll., of 18 December 2003, on the Issue of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10). This classification was updated by Communication of the Czech Statistical Office No. 430 / 2008 Coll., of 3 December 2008, Communication of the Czech Statistical Office No. 340 / 2011 Coll., of 13 November 2011, Communication of the Czech Statistical Office No. 426 / 2012 Coll., of 28 November 2012, Communication of the Czech Statistical Office No. 464 / 2017 Coll., of 15 December 2017, Communication of the Czech Statistical Office No. 290 / 2019 Coll., of 4 November 2019, and Communication of the Czech Statistical Office No. 576 / 2020 Coll., of 17 December 2020.

The International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10) is intended mainly for statistics on causes of death, for monitoring the health status of the population (e.g. health registers, incapacity for work) and for health and social insurance purposes. The formalities and details of the use of this classification shall be determined by the methodological guidelines for each agenda and work where such classification is required.
