DECLARATION
of 30 January 2003
on the issue of commemorative silver two hundred crowns for the 150th anniversary of the birth of Josef Thomayer
The Czech National Bank provides for the Czech National Bank in accordance with § 22 (a) of Act No. 6 / 1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank:
§ 1
(1) On the 150th anniversary of the birth of the important Czech doctor and writer Dr. Josef Thomayer, commemorative silver two hundred crowns (hereinafter referred to as "two hundred crowns") are issued.
(2) Two hundred koruna is issued in the normal version and in a special version intended for collector's purposes with a polished field of coin and matte relief (hereinafter referred to as the special version).
(3) Two hundred korona in normal and special design is rolled from an alloy containing 900 parts of silver and 100 parts of copper. The weight of two hundred crowns is 13 g, its diameter is 31 mm and its strength is 2,40 mm. The edge of two hundred crowns in normal version is serrated, the edge of two hundred crowns in special version is smooth with the feature "CZECH NATIONAL BANKA * Ag 0.900 * 13 g *." In the case of two-hundredth stamping in normal and special design, the tolerance allowed shall be 0,1 mm in diameter and 0,15 mm in thickness. In the mass, the allowed tolerance is up to 0,26 g and in the silver content is up to 1%.
§ 2
(1) On the face of the two-hundred crown, the Czech lion is placed in the upper half in a rectangular shield and under it is the name of the state "CZECH REPUBLIC." In the middle under the name of the state is the denomination of the coin with the acronym "200 CZK" and the medical symbol under it - the cup wrapped with snake. In the background of the glass is a laurel smear symbolizing J. Thomayer's literary creation. The author of the front side of the two-hundred crown is the academic sculptor Ladislav Kozák, whose initials "L • K" are placed below the laurel slide to the right of the cup, symmetrically left of the cup is the mark of the mint which drove the two-hundred crown.
(2) On the back of the two hundred crown is a portrait of Josef Thomayer, which fills almost the entire coin area. At the lower edge of the two hundred crowns, the text "JOSEF THOMAYER" and the years "1853 - 2003" are placed in two rows through the portrait. The author of the design of the reverse side is Josef Oplištil. The initials of his name, linked to the letters "OJ," are placed at the bottom right edge of the two hundred crown.
§ 3
This Decree takes effect on 19 March 2003.
