GOVERNMENT REGULATION
of 14 November 2001
determining the scope and detailed conditions for the provision of personal protective equipment, washing, cleaning and disinfection equipment
The Government orders pursuant to § 133a (6) of Act No. 65 / 1965 Coll., Labour Code, as amended by Act No. 155 / 2000 Coll.:
This Regulation lays down, in accordance with European Community law, the scope and detailed conditions for the provision of personal protective equipment ("protective equipment '), washing, cleaning and disinfection equipment.
Protective equipment for the purposes of this Regulation shall not:
(a) ordinary working clothing and footwear which are not intended to protect the health of workers from risks and which are not subject to extreme wear or pollution at work;
(b) equipment and equipment of rescue and rescue services operating under special legislation, 2)
(c) special protective equipment used in the army or in order and security forces;
(d) equipment and equipment used in road traffic, 3)
(e) sports equipment and equipment,
(f) protective equipment intended for self-defence;
(g) means for detecting and signalling risks and pollutants at the workplace.
(1) Protective equipment must:
(a) be effective against and shall not pose an additional risk during use;
(b) comply with the conditions at the workplace;
(c) be adapted to the physical assumptions of each employee;
(d) respect the ergonomic requirements and health of workers.
(2) Where the presence of more than one risk requires workers to use at the same time more protective equipment, such protective equipment must be mutually compatible.
(3) Staff members must be informed of the use of protective equipment. The use of protective equipment by multiple employees is only possible if measures have been taken to prevent threats to communicable diseases.
(4) The method, conditions and duration of use of protective equipment shall be determined by the employer on the basis of the frequency and severity of the risks, nature and type of work and work, and taking into account the characteristics of such protective equipment.
(1) The risk assessment for the selection and use of protective equipment shall be carried out in particular in accordance with Annex 1 to this Regulation.
(2) The selection of protective equipment shall be carried out in particular in accordance with Annexes 2 and 3 to this Regulation.
(1) In order to prevent and spread infectious diseases, the employer will provide disinfectants. Protective ointments having a disinfectant effect shall also be considered as disinfectants.
(2) Employees who come into contact with substances which may cause skin irritation or contamination of the worker shall be provided by the employer by type of substance by detergent and detergent, the recommended quantity of which is given in Annex 4 to this Regulation and, where appropriate, regenerative creams and ointments.
This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 January 2002.

Individual protective equipment shall in particular:
For head protection:
(a) protective helmets (used for example in mines, construction, forestry, agriculture and industry),
(b) protection against scalping (hats, berets, hairnets - with or without label, etc.),
(c) protective headgear (berths, hats, waterproof hats, etc., made from fabric, impregnated textile fabrics, etc.).
For hearing protection:
(a) hearing protectors and similar devices;
(b) hearing protectors;
(c) acoustic helmets (so-called noise helmets),
(d) ear muzzle protectors which may be attached to protective helmets;
e. Hearing protectors with receiver and low frequency induction loop,
(f) hearing protection with intercom.
For eye and face protection:
(a) goggles;
(b) X-ray, laser, ultraviolet, infrared, visible (dazzle) glasses;
(c) face shields;
(d) welding cocoons and shields (shielding with handle, clamping cocoons or cocoons which can be attached to protective helmets).
For respiratory protection:
(a) masks and semi-masks with filters against particles, vapours, gases and radioactive dust with a suitable facade part;
(b) insulating breathing apparatus with air supply,
(c) breathing protection devices, including removable welding cocoon;
(d) diving breathing apparatus and equipment.
For the protection of hands and arms:
(a) gloves to protect against:
- mechanical damage (against stabbing, cutting, vibration, etc.),
- chemicals and biological agents,
- electricity, heat and low temperatures,
- ionising radiation,
(b) mittens,
(c) protective fingers,
(d) protective sleeves,
(e) protective warmers for heavy duty,
(f) palm trees,
(g) protective gloves for working in a wet, wet or polluting environment.
For foot protection:
(a) footwear of half-boot, ankle, half-tibia, tibia and high, especially in the wet environment;
(b) footwear with a protective and safety pencil;
(c) footwear which can be quickly removed,
(d) footwear and slippers with heat resistant outer soles;
(e) footwear, high footwear, slippers with non-slip soles,
(f) footwear, high footwear, vibration-resistant ski footwear,
(g) footwear, high footwear, antistatic footwear,
(h) footwear, high footwear, thermal insulating furniture,
(i) protective footwear for the use of portable chain saws;
(j) clogs;
(k) protection against cutting;
(l) knee protectors,
(m) removable foot protectors;
(n) kamashi,
(o) interchangeable soles (heat resistant, piercing or sweat resistant),
(p) removable tips for walking on ice and snow or on slippery floors.
For the protection of the torso and abdomen:
(a) protective vests, coats and aprons for protection against machinery and hand tools (stabbing, cutting, spraying of molten metal, etc.),
(b) protective vests, coats and aprons for protection against chemical and biological substances,
(c) heated vests,
(d) life jackets;
(e) aprons to protect against X-ray radiation;
(f) lumbar belts, protectors.
To protect the whole body
Devices to prevent falls:
(a) complete equipment for the prevention of falls, including any accessories;
(b) kinetic energy-absorbing braking devices, including any necessary accessories;
(c) the means of laying the body.
Protective clothing:
(a) protective working clothing (double-edged, overalls),
(b) clothing providing protection against machinery and hand tools (stabbing, cutting, etc.),
(c) clothing to protect against chemicals and biological agents;
(d) clothing protecting against molten metal spray or infrared radiation,
(e) heat and fire resistant clothing;
(f) clothing against cold and water (waterproof),
(g) clothing to protect against ionising radiation;
(h) dustproof garments;
(i) gas-tight clothing,
j) clothing and accessories with high visibility from retro-reflective and fluorescent materials (sleeves, gloves, etc.),
(k) diving suits,
(l) protective blankets.

The work and activities which require the provision of protective equipment shall, in particular:
1. Work and activities that require head and skull protection
Protective helmets:
(a) construction work;
(b) works related to the maintenance, repair and modernisation of steel bridges, steel structures of buildings, masts, towers, steel structures, blast furnaces, steel and rolling mills, large tanks, large pipelines, boiler rooms and power plants;
(c) work related to maintenance and repair in pits, digs, shafts and tunnels;
(d) land and quarry works;
(e) underground work, surface mines, open dig sites, in the disposal of coal landfills,
(f) working with expansion inserts;
(g) tearing work;
(h) working near lifting equipment, cranes and conveyors;
(i) work for blast furnaces, reduction furnaces, metal processing, forging, die forging, founding,
(j) working on industrial furnaces, containers, machinery, silos, containers and pipes;
(k) shipbuilding and ship repair;
(l) work on moving railway wagons,
(m) work in slaughterhouses;
(n) rescue work and the fight against accidents, if they are not carried out by rescue services and bodies;
(o) horse breeding work;
(p) logging, handling of logs,
(r) the operation of fences and forklifts.
2. Work and activities that require foot protection
2.1 Protective footwear with pierced soles:
(a) work on the construction of skeleton buildings, foundations and road works;
(b) scaffolding,
(c) demolition work;
d) working with concrete and prefabricated parts, formwork construction and removal;
(e) excellent work and warehouse work;
(f) roof work;
(g) forest work;
(h) work in chemical plants.
2.2. Protective footwear with outer soles not resistant to penetration, incision:
(a) work on steel bridges, steel structures of buildings, masts, towers, lifts, steel structures, blast furnaces, steel and rolling mills, large tanks, large pipelines, cranes, boiler rooms, power plants;
(b) work in the construction of furnaces, heating and ventilation equipment and assembly of metal parts;
(c) construction and maintenance work;
(d) work for blast furnaces, reduction furnaces, steel mills, rolling mills, metal processing, forging, forging, hot pressing, wire drawing,
(e) work in quarry and open dig, on coal shelters;
(f) mining and processing work;
(g) working in the manufacture and processing of flat glass and packaging glass,
h) work in the casting of furnaces in the ceramic industry;
(i) working with forms in the ceramic industry;
j) work in forming in the ceramic industry and work in the construction materials industry,
(k) transport and storage work;
(l) working with frozen meat blocks and with preserved food blocks;
(m) ship construction and repair work;
(n) work on moving railway wagons;
(o) work on frame saws,
(p) long-term standing up work.
2.3 Protective footwear with heels or on a wedge and with intrusion resistant soles, incision marks:
Roof work.
2.4 Protective footwear with thermal insulation sole:
working on or working with very hot or very cold materials.
2.5 Protective footwear which is easy to remove:
work where there is a risk of leakage of the molten substance.
2.6 Protective footwear with non-slip sole:
working in a wet environment or on slippery surfaces.
3. Work and activities that require eye or face protection
Protective glasses, face shields or shielding:
(a) welding, grinding and grinding work;
(b) sealing and cutting operations;
(c) mining and processing work;
(d) work with expansion inserts;
(e) work on roughing machines which produce small fragments;
(f) forging,
(g) removal of parts of material or of work in which fragments or fragments (metalworking, woodworking) arise;
(h) abrasive blasting work;
(i) working with acids and principles, their solutions, disinfectants and corrosive detergents;
(j) works in which liquids are sprayed;
(k) working with or near molten substances;
(l) radiant heat work;
(m) laser work;
n) working with portable chain saws and shrubs.
