Slovak National Council
of 30 June 1966
concerning the Commission of the Slovak National Water Council
The Slovak National Council decided on this law:
The Commission of the Slovak National Water Management Council is hereby established as an initiative, control and executive body of the Slovak National Water Management Council in Slovakia.
The Commission of the Slovak National Water Management Council is involved in the management of water management in Slovakia, in particular:
(a) ensure compliance with the principles of the national water management plan and ensure that it is more detailed as necessary;
(b) discuss principles and concepts and participate in the preparation and development of long-term prospects, long-term and implementation plans and water management budgets in Slovakia;
(c) ensure proportional development of water management in Slovakia;
d) takes care of water management, the efficient use of water resources, water supply and sewerage, the purity of flows and the protection of the area against flooding;
(e) examine and check the implementation of the tasks of the water management plan in Slovakia;
(f) discuss and assess the fundamental issues of investment construction in the water economy in Slovakia.
The Commission of the Slovak National Water Management Council is headed by the President, who is the executive body of the Slovak National Council and performs tasks in the field of State Water Management within the limits of the competence of the Slovak National Council. Other tasks in the field of water management in Slovakia shall be performed to the extent specified by the Government; in this activity it is governed by the directives of the Administration of the Central Water Management Board.
The Commission of the Slovak National Water Council shall elect a Vice-President from among its members; Vice-President may not be a Member of the Slovak National Council.
The Commission of the Slovak National Water Council and its Chairman shall carry out their tasks in cooperation with the Central Water Administration, the Executive Authorities of the Slovak National Council in the fields of government and national committees; further with the Slovak Academy of Sciences and universities. In their work they rely on the experience and knowledge of the broad asset of science and practice workers.
The Commission of the Slovak National Water Management Council has a powerful apparatus to perform its tasks, which is part of the single apparatus of the Slovak National Council.
Unless otherwise provided for in this Act, the Slovak National Water Council and its apparatus shall be governed by the Slovak National Council Act on the Rules of Procedure and Conditions of Employment of the Slovak National Council.
This Act shall take effect on 30 June 1966.
