GOVERNMENT REGULATION
of 19 December 2001
on the abolition of the visa requirement for holders of United Nations' "Laissez-Passer 'travel documents, the European Union' Laissez-Passer 'travel document and the European Union' Emergence Travel Document '
The Government orders pursuant to § 181 (a) of Act No. 326 / 1999 Coll., on the residence of foreigners in the Czech Republic and on the amendment of certain laws, as amended by Act No. 140 / 2001 Coll.:
The holders of United Nations travel documents ("UN ')" Laissez-Passer', issued under the United Nations Convention on Privileges and Immunities, approved by the United Nations General Assembly on 13 February 1946, and under the Convention on Privileges and Immunities of International Professional Organisations, approved by the United Nations General Assembly on 21 November 1947, may enter the territory of the Czech Republic and temporarily reside without a visa for a maximum period of 90 days, unless the purpose of their stay is to carry out a professional activity. Holders of such travel documents, which are accredited by the UN representative offices in the Czech Republic, may reside in the territory of the Czech Republic without visas during their secondment.
(1) Holders of the European Union travel document "Laissez-Passer" may enter the territory of the Czech Republic and temporarily reside without a visa for a maximum period of 90 days, unless the purpose of their stay is not to pursue a professional activity. Holders of this travel document, which are accredited by the European Union representative office in the Czech Republic, may reside in the territory of the Czech Republic without visas during their secondment.
(2) Holders of the European Union replacement travel document "Emergence Travel Document" may enter the territory of the Czech Republic and temporarily reside without a visa for a maximum period of 30 days, unless the purpose of their stay is not to pursue a gainful activity.
(1) This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 January 2002.
(2) Paragraph 2 expires on the date of entry into force of the Treaty of Accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union.
