of 12 December 2003
establishing the formula for the calculation of the extract of the original youth and the methods for determining the extract of the original youth
The Ministry of Finance provides pursuant to § 139 (1) of Act No 353 / 2003 Coll., on excise duties, (hereinafter "the Act ') for the implementation of § 81 (3) of the Act:
Formula for calculating the extract of the original youth
The extract of the original youth shall be calculated using the large Balling formula set out in the Annex to this Decree.
Method of determination of the extract of the native youth
The distillation method shall be used as the arbitration method to determine precisely the extract of the original youth. In serial analyses, the extract of the original youth can be determined refractometrically or using automatic analysers.
This Decree shall take effect on 1 January 2004.

1. Great Balling Formula
p% = 2,0665 A + Es 100100 + 1.0665 A
2. Explanatory notes to the formula for the calculation of the extract of the original youth
p - extract of the original youth,
Es - the percentage by weight of actual (unfermented) beer extract, to be determined by pyknometric or, where appropriate, densitometric, after distillation of alcohol and addition of distilled water to the original weight of the sample,
A - the percentage by weight of alcohol determined in the distillate in terms of pyknometric and, where appropriate, densitometric.
