on updating the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10)
The Czech Statistical Office pursuant to § 19 (2) of Act No. 89 / 1995 Coll., on the National Statistical Service, announces with effect from 1 January 2018 an update of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10).
The Czech Statistical Office issued the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10) by Communication No 495 / 2003 Coll., of 18 December 2003. This classification was updated by Communication No 430 / 2008 Coll., of 3 December 2008, Communication No 340 / 2011 Coll., of 13 November 2011 and Communication No 426 / 2012 Coll., of 28 November 2012.
The International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10) is intended mainly for statistics on causes of death, for monitoring the health status of the population (e.g. health registers, incapacity for work) and for health and social insurance purposes. The formalities and details of the use of MKN-10 shall be determined by the methodological guidelines for each agenda and work where this classification is required.
The valid version of the updated MKN-10 classification is available in electronic form on the website of the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic http: / / www.uzis.cz / catalogue / classification / mkn.
