of 7 March 1947
on the adjustment of working time in mining.
The Constitutional National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Republic decided on this law:
(1) The working hours of workers of mining plants serving directly the extraction of coal, solids and ores must not last substantially more than 46 hours a week or 8 hours at 24 hours, but not more than 6 hours on Saturday.
(2) The working hours for underground workers shall be calculated from the first exit until the last worker of the same shift.
(3) In the case of permanent high-temperature work, insufficient ventilation and water inflow, the Regional Mining Office may hear the employees' representative and plant management, shorten the working hours accordingly so as not to exceed 7 hours with the exit and exit times.
(1) For the period of exceptional economic conditions to be determined by the Government by regulation, the Ministry of Social Welfare may, in agreement with the Ministry of Industry, after hearing the Central Council of Trade Unions and the Central Directorate of the Czechoslovak Mine, determine for each branch that 3 Saturdays are to be worked after 8 hours within 4 weeks, and the next fourth Saturday will be a day of rest.
(2) The salary payable for this four-Sunday period must not be lower than that payable for the four-Sunday period for the adjustment of working hours referred to in Article 1 (1).
The provisions of this law shall not apply to employees who are primarily employed by the administration and to surface workers who are not employed by mining. In agreement with the Minister of Industry and after hearing the Unified Trade Union Organisation, the Minister for Social Welfare shall lay down the details in the Official Journal.
This Act shall take effect on the day of its publication. It will be carried out by the Social Welfare and Industry Ministers.
