on updating the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10)
The Czech Statistical Office, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health pursuant to § 19 (2) of Act No. 89 / 1995 Coll., on the State Statistical Service, as amended, announces with effect from 1 January 2009 an update of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (hereinafter referred to as "MKN-10 ').
The Czech Statistical Office introduced MKN-10 by communication No. 495 / 2003 Coll., on the issue of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10). MKN-10 is intended mainly for statistics on causes of death, for monitoring the health status of the population (e.g. health registers, incapacity for work) and for health and social insurance purposes. The formalities and details of the use of MKN-10 shall be determined by the methodological guidelines for each agenda and work where this classification is required.
The valid version of the updated MKN-10 will be available in book form in the publishing house BOMTON agency, s.r.o., Spirits 112 / 16, 110 00 Praha 1 and in electronic form on the website of the Ministry of Health (www.mzcr.cz) and the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic (www.uzis.cz).
