on the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Bulgaria on the mutual recognition of the equivalence of evidence of education and of scientific values and titles issued in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and in the People's Republic of Bulgaria
On 14 April 1982, an Agreement was signed in Prague between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Bulgaria on the mutual recognition of the equivalence of evidence of education and on the scientific values and titles issued in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and in the People's Republic of Bulgaria. The Agreement entered into force on 18 November 1982 pursuant to Article 11 thereof.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Bulgaria on the mutual recognition of the equivalence of evidence of education and of scientific values and titles issued in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and in the People's Republic of Bulgaria
the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Bulgaria,
led by the wish to continue to develop cooperation in the field of science and education under the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Bulgaria on Cultural and Scientific Cooperation of 10 April 1978,
building on the Convention on the Reciprocal Recognition of Adequacy of Documents on the Graduation of Medium, Medium Vocational and Higher Education, as well as on the Evidence of the Award of Scientific Aspects and Titles, signed in Prague on 7 June 1972,
they have agreed as follows:
Evidence of education issued in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and in the People's Republic of Bulgaria on the acquisition of basic education or on the successful completion of primary school shall be recognised as equivalent; these documents confirm that their holders have received an education to the extent required in both countries to study at all types of secondary schools.
Education documents issued in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic after completion of two or three years of training or studies at secondary vocational schools, vocational schools, vocational schools and apprenticeships and in the People's Republic of Bulgaria after completion of two or three years of training or studies at technical and apprenticeship schools shall be recognised as equivalent; these documents confirm that their holders have complied with the qualification requirement for the pursuit of certain professions.
Education documents issued in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic after the completion of the Gymnasium and in the People's Republic of Bulgaria after the completion of secondary education (polytechnical) schools are recognised as equivalent; these documents confirm that their holders have received education to the extent required in both countries for university studies as well as for the pursuit of certain professions.
Education documents issued in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic after completion of four years of study in secondary vocational schools and after completion of secondary education for workers and in the People's Republic of Bulgaria after completion of secondary technical schools in the relevant disciplines and training centres are recognised as equivalent; these documents confirm that their holders have fulfilled the qualification requirement of education for the pursuit of certain professions and have received education to the extent required in both States for university studies.
Education documents issued in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic after completion of secondary vocational schools, conservatory and music and dance schools and in the People's Republic of Bulgaria after completion of secondary vocational schools, secondary artistic schools, secondary pedagogical schools are recognised as equivalent; these documents confirm that their holders have fulfilled the qualification requirement of education for the pursuit of certain professions and have received education to the extent required in both States for university studies.
Education documents issued in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic after graduation in secondary schools providing full secondary education and in the People's Republic of Bulgaria after graduation are recognised as equivalent; these documents confirm that their holders have complied with the qualification requirement for the pursuit of certain professions. Evidence of termination of secondary secondary education in the People's Republic of Bulgaria confirms that their holders have received an education to the extent required in both countries for higher education.
Education documents issued in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and in the People's Republic of Bulgaria after leaving the university shall be recognised as equivalent; these documents confirm that their holders have received higher education in the relevant field of study to the extent required for the pursuit of certain professions and for admission to the training of new researchers.
Evidence of the award of scientific degrees "Doctor of Sciences" or "Candidate of Sciences" issued in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and in the People's Republic of Bulgaria is recognised as equivalent.
Evidence of the award of scientific or artistic degrees "Professor" or "Docent" issued in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and evidence of the award of scientific degrees "Professor" or "Docent" issued in the People's Republic of Bulgaria shall be recognised as equivalent.
Evidence of the award of scientific titles "grade I expert scientist" and "grade II expert scientist" issued in the People's Republic of Bulgaria is recognised in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
The competent authorities of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the People's Republic of Bulgaria will exchange comparative tables of the types of documents referred to in this Agreement as well as models of the documents issued.
This Agreement shall be subject to approval under the national provisions of the Contracting Parties and shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of notes confirming its approval.
This Agreement shall be in force until one of the Contracting Parties denies it in writing within one year.
Dane in Prague on 14 April 1982 in duplicate, each in the Czech and Bulgarian languages, both texts being equally authentic.
