DECLARATION
Federal Ministry of the Interior
of 6 May 1974
on the Public Security Auxiliary Guard
The Federal Ministry of Interior, in agreement with the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Socialist Republic and the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Socialist Republic, provides in accordance with Section 58 of Act No. 40 / 1974 Coll., on the National Security Corps:
(1) Membership in the Public Security Auxiliary Guard is created by the placing of a promise in the hands of the head of the District Department of Public Security or its representative. This promise is:
"I, a member of the Public Security Auxiliary Guard, solemnly promise to protect the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, the interests of the working class, the working people and to actively contribute to the protection of public order, the security of people and property. In my work, I will abide by laws and other laws and state secrets. I promise."
(2) After the promise has been made, the head of the District Department of Public Security or his representative shall forward to the member of the Auxiliary Guard Public Security a card to the member of the Auxiliary Guard and the sleeve of the Auxiliary Guard.
(1) The external designation of the member of the Auxiliary Guard of Public Security within the meaning of § 57 (2) of Act No. 40 / 1974 Coll., on the National Security Corps, is the sleeve of the Auxiliary Guard of Public Security, which is worn on the left back-up.
(2) The sleeve tape is yellow, 105 mm wide with blue letters "PS VB" of 35 mm height and 20 mm width.
Members of the Public Security Auxiliary Guard shall:
(a) maintain laws and other laws in the performance of their duties, they must act with discretion and politeness in the conduct of their duties and ensure the proper seriousness, honor and dignity of the citizens and their own;
(b) actively carry out the tasks of the Public Security Auxiliary Guard, enhance its political and expertise and demonstrate readiness to perform the tasks to the extent specified.
The members of the Public Security Auxiliary Guard may receive benefits in kind and in cash for the exceptional performance of the service and the results at work.
(1) The head of the District Department of Public Security must release a member who requests it from the Public Security Auxiliary Guard.
(2) The head of the District Department of Public Security may remove a member of the Public Security Auxiliary Guard from membership if he fails to fulfil his duties properly or if he commits an act incompatible with the function of Auxiliary Guard of Public Security.
This Decree shall take effect on 1 July 1974.
