DECLARATION
Minister for Finance
of 9 April 1962
on the issue of banknotes of 25 CZK and coins of 1 cent of the new model and the withdrawal of banknotes of 25 CZK of the model 1953
The Minister of Finance declares pursuant to § 3 (2) of Act No. 41 / 1953 Coll.:
From 2 May 1962, they shall be put into circulation:
(a) banknotes of the Czechoslovak State Bank (hereinafter referred to as the "banknotes") of 25 CZK model 1961 (shape II),
(b) coins of 1 cent of the pattern 1962.
(1) Banknotes of 25 CZK model 1961 (shape II) differ by design from banknotes of 25 CZK model 1958 (shape II) *) only by national character and by year.
(2) The new state emblem of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the year "1961" are located on the front page similarly to the 25 CZK model 1958 banknotes.
Coins of 1 cent of the pattern 1962 differ from 1 penny of the pattern 1953 * *) only by embossing a new state emblem and the name "CZECH SOCIALISTIC REPUBLIC" on their face.
Banknotes of 25 CZK model 1958 *) and coins of 1 cent model 1953 * *) remain legal money.
(1) Banknotes of 25 CZK model 1953 (on the front page with a picture of Jan Žižka on horseback) * *) cease to be legal money in the territory of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic until 31 December 1962.
(2) The banknotes referred to in paragraph 1 shall be exchanged between 1 January 1963 and 30 June 1963, including all postal offices, state savings banks and branches of the Czechoslovak State Bank, between 1 July 1963 and 31 December 1963, including only the Czechoslovak State Bank. After 31 December 1963, any exchange of such banknotes shall be excluded.
This decree shall take effect on 2 May 1962.
