on the introduction of IR- DRG
The Czech Statistical Office, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health pursuant to § 19 (2) of Act No. 89 / 1995 Coll., on the State Statistical Service, as amended, introduces with effect from 1 January 2006 the classification of hospitalized patients of IR- DRG (hereinafter "IR- DRG classification ').
The IR- DRG classification allows patients to be classified in acute hospital care based on their clinical similarity and comparability of the cost of their hospital stay.
For the classification of IR- DRG, the definition manual, version 003.2006 (pdf format) and program for automated coding according to this classification (so-called grouper), Czech version 003.2006 is published for 2006. The issue and distribution of the above version of the definition manual and the IR-DRG grouper are the responsibility of the Institute for Postgraduate Education in Health, Ruská 85, 100 05 Praha 10, which is also a service organisation for the provision of all activities related to the definition manual and group IR-DRG.
The definition manual and the IR-DRG grouper can be obtained in electronic form using the procedure set out on the website www.nrc.ipzv.cz.
