on updating the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10)
The Czech Statistical Office, pursuant to § 19 (2) of Act No. 89 / 1995 Coll., on the State Statistical Service, as amended, announces with effect from 1 January 2024 an update of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10).
The Czech Statistical Office issued the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10) by Communication No. 495 / 2003 Coll., of 18 December 2003, on the Issue of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10). This classification was updated by Communication No 430 / 2008 Coll., Communication No 340 / 2011 Coll., Communication No 426 / 2012 Coll., Communication No 464 / 2017 Coll., Communication No 290 / 2019 Coll., Communication No 576 / 2020 Coll., Communication No 512 / 2021 Coll. and Communication No 398 / 2022 Coll.
The International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10) is intended mainly for statistics on causes of death, for monitoring the health status of the population (e.g. health registers, incapacity for work) and for health and social insurance purposes. The formalities and details of the use of this classification shall be determined by the methodological guidelines for each agenda and work where such classification is required.
The current version of the updated International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Associated Health Problems (MKN-10) is available in electronic form on the website of the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic https: / / www.uzis.cz / mkn.
