on updating the IR- DRG classification
The Czech Statistical Office, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health pursuant to § 19 (2) of Act No. 89 / 1995 Coll., on the State Statistical Service, as amended, announces with effect from 1 January 2009 the update of the IR- DRG classification of hospitalised patients (hereinafter "IR- DRG classification ').
The IR- DRG classification allows patients to be classified in acute hospital care based on their clinical similarity and comparability of the cost of their hospital stay.
For the classification of IR- DRG, a definition manual, version 006.2009 (pdf format), program for automated classification of cases into the DRG according to this classification (so-called grouper), Czech version 006.2009, and binding methodological materials and code lists for use within the IR- DRG classification, version 006.2009. The Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, Palacký Square 4, 128 01 Prague 2 is responsible for the issue and distribution of the above materials.
The definition manual and grouper for the IR- DRG classification can be obtained in electronic form using the procedure set out on the website www.mmc.cz. Binding methodological materials and code lists for use under the IR- DRG classification are also published on this website.
