amending and supplementing the National Assembly Elections Act and the National Committees Act
The Bureau of the National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic has decided pursuant to Article 60 (2) of the Constitution on the following legal measure:
Act No. 27 / 1954 Coll., on Elections to the National Assembly, as amended by Act No. 37 / 1960 Coll. and Legal measure No. 26 / 1961 Coll. is amended as follows:
Supplementary Options
(1) If, for any reason, a vacancy takes place instead of a Member of the National Assembly, the Bureau of the National Assembly shall provide for a supplementary election. The supplementary election shall take place no later than 90 days after the vacancy of the member of the National Assembly.
(2) The Bureau of the National Assembly does not need to provide for an additional choice or may decide not to make a supplementary choice if it should take place at the time after the general election for the National Assembly is announced.
(3) The Bureau of the National Assembly shall set up a Central Election Commission for the entire election period of the National Assembly to manage the supplementary elections. The Commission shall be composed of the President, Deputy Secretary, Secretary and six other members. The Central Election Commission for Addition to the National Assembly in Slovakia is the body of the Slovak Election Commission, set up by the Presidency of the Slovak National Council; has the same composition. ';
Act No. 39 / 1960 Coll., on elections to national committees, is amended as follows:
Supplementary Options
(1) If, for any reason, a member of the National Committee becomes vacant, the supplementary election shall be determined by the Council of the National Committee of the Higher Level and by the Government of the Regional National Committee or the National Committee of the City of Prague. The supplementary election shall take place no later than 90 days after the vacancy of the member of the national committee.
(2) The authority referred to in paragraph 1 need not provide for a supplementary option or may decide not to make the supplementary choice if it should take place at the time after the general election is announced to the national committees. "
This legal measure shall take effect on the date of its publication.
