on the update of the Country Code list (CZEM)
The Czech Statistical Office, pursuant to § 19 (2) of Act No. 89 / 1995 Coll., on the State Statistical Service, as amended, announces with effect from 1 January 2011 the update of the Country Code list ("CZEM code list ') issued by the Czech Statistical Office Communication No. 489 / 2003 Coll. of 18 December 2003 and updated by Communication No. 534 / 2006 Coll. of 27 November 2006.
Changes to ISO 3166-1 international standard published on its website by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) are reflected in the updated CZEM code list. Furthermore, due to the current needs of users, the Czech Statistical Office classifies Kosovo as a code list. The amendments are set out in the Annex to this communication.
The valid version of the updated Country Code list (CZEM) will be available on the CSU website at www.czso.cz.

Note 1): Kosovo has been included in the Country Code list due to current user needs. Codes N-3 and A-2 were taken from the European classification of GEONOM countries, code A-3 was provisionally established by the Czech Statistical Office.
