DECLARATION
Federal Ministry of Finance
of 22 March 1989
on the issue of commemorative silver CZK 50 to the 150th anniversary of the start of railway transport on the line Břeclav -Brno
Federal Ministry of Finance pursuant to § 3 (2) of Act No. 41 / 1953 Coll., on Money Reform, and pursuant to § 2 (2) of Government Decree No. 35 / 1954 Coll., on commemorative coins, in an agreement with the State Bank of Czechoslovakia declares:
(1) On the 150th anniversary of the start of railway transport on the Břeclav-Brno line, commemorative silver fifty crowns (hereinafter referred to as "fifty crowns") are issued.
(2) The 50 crowns are rolled from an alloy of 500 pieces of silver, 400 parts of copper, 50 parts of nickel and 50 parts of zinc. The weight of 50 kroner is 7 g. In the case of stamping, a tolerance up and down of 10 / 1000 and a silver content of 5 / 1000 is permitted. The diameter of the 50 crown is 27 mm, its edge is serrated.
(1) On the face of fifty crowns is the state emblem of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in the middle of the top and around it in an unclosed copy is the name of the state "CZESKOSLOVAK SOCIALISTIC REPUBLIC." Under the national emblem, the value "50 CZK" is in two rows.
(2) On the back of the fifty crown is depicted the historical steam locomotive from the 1930s and around it in the broken circle are railway tracks. There's an intermittent copy of "IRON-BRNO" at the top, the year "1839-1989" at the bottom.
(3) The author of the 50 crown design is the academic sculptor Vladimir Oppl. The initials of his name "VO" are placed on the reverse at the edge of the coin in the middle of the left.
This Decree shall take effect on 3 April 1989.
