of 19 September 1990
on the definition of the competence of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic in matters of internal order and security
The Federal Assembly of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic decided on this law:
The Czech and Slovak Federal Republic's competence in matters of internal order and security includes:
(a) obtain, concentrate, evaluate and protect foreign information relevant to the protection of the constitutional establishment and security of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic;
(b) the fight against terrorism organised in conjunction with abroad;
(c) to detect crime organised in conjunction with a foreign and organised crime linked to illicit production, possession and distribution of drugs, smuggling and falsifying and amending money, stamps and securities;
(d) cooperate with Interpol and other international organisations with the participation of the authorities of the Republics;
(e) maintain national records and statistics and declare national searches;
(f) carry out special expert activities where it cannot be secured within the Republics;
(g) the rules governing the protection of national, economic and professional secrecy; control of the protection of state, economic and professional secrecy in the state bodies and organisations of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic;
(h) methodological management of the cipher service;
(i) the rules governing the protection of national borders and the protection of national borders to the extent specified;
j) Ensure protection of constitutional officials of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, representative offices and objects of special importance;
(k) performance of state administration in the field of:
1. issuing of travel documents, allowing entry into the territory of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and allowing the residence of foreigners;
2. national borders, their measurement, marking, maintenance and management of the documentary work;
3. national symbols of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic;
4. an organisation with an international element in accordance with the Specific Regulation.1)
Act No. 128 / 1970 Coll., on the definition of the competence of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic in matters of internal order and security is hereby repealed.
This Act shall take effect on 1 November 1990.
