DECLARATION
of 30 September 2025
on the issue of the commemorative silver two hundred crowns for the 900th anniversary of the death of Chronicator Kosmas
The Czech National Bank provides pursuant to § 22 paragraph 1 (a) of Act No. 6 / 1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank, as amended by Act No. 442 / 2000 Coll. and Act No. 89 / 2018 Coll.:
(1) On 15 October 2025, the 900th anniversary of the death of Chronicator Kosmas is issued a commemorative silver coin of 200 CZK (hereinafter referred to as the "two hundred crowns").
(2) Two hundred koruna is issued in the normal version and in a special version with polished field of coin and matte relief.
(3) Two hundred koruna is rolled from an alloy containing 925 parts of silver and 75 parts of copper. The weight of two hundred crowns is 13 g, its diameter is 31 mm and its strength is 2,25 mm. In the case of an embossing of two hundred crowns, the tolerance in the silver content shall be up to 1%, the difference in weight up to 0,26 g, the tolerance in diameter 0,1 mm and the tolerance in thickness 0,15 mm. The edge of two hundred crowns in normal design is serrated, the edge of two hundred crowns in special design is smooth with the feature "CZECH NATIONAL BANKA * Ag 0.925 * 13 g *."
(1) The Romanesque basilica of St. Vitus, Vojtěch and the Virgin Mary is depicted on the front of the two hundred crown. At the bottom of the coin is the initials "C" on the left, accompanied by a motif from the Romanesque column and the text "COSMAS DECANUS" on the right. At the top of the coin is the text "CZECH REPUBLIC." The denomination designation with the abbreviation "200 CZK" is above the basilica. The brand of the Czech Mint consisting of the letters "No" and "M" is at the lower edge of the coin.
(2) On the reverse side of the two-hundredth crown, the writing chronicler on the left and the Romanesque column on the right, the silhouette of the face and the walled wall. Under the representation of the chronicler are two lines "KOSMAS" and "1125 • 2025." The initials of the author of the academic sculptor Michal Vitanovsky, which are composed of the associated letters "MV," are placed at the lower edge of the coin.
(3) The picture of the two hundred crown is given in the annex to this decree.
This decree shall take effect on 15 October 2025.
