Decree of the Ministry of Local Development on the content and scope of specialised training for funeral services, embalming and preservation and crematorium operations

Ministry of Local Development
of 17 October 2001
determining the content and scope of specialised training to conduct funeral services, embalming and preserving and operating the crematorium
The Ministry of Local Development provides, pursuant to § 31 of Act No. 256 / 2001 Coll., on Funeral Funerals and on the amendment of certain laws, hereinafter referred to as "the Act", for the implementation of § 6 (3), § 10 (3) and § 13 (3) of the Act:
§ 1
Operation of funeral services
Specialised training required under § 6 (2) of the Act to perform a funeral service includes:
(a) an operating part of a minimum of 40 teaching hours aimed at arranging burial and psychology of human trafficking, procedures for transporting and burying human remains, modification, temporary storage and exposure of human remains, safety and health at work, technical and operational equipment of the funeral service;
(b) an economic part of a minimum of 20 teaching hours aimed at the economy of the funeral service, including accounting, price calculation, accounting, remuneration and tax issues;
(c) a legal part of a minimum of 20 teaching hours aimed at adjusting the treatment of human survivors (1) and the knowledge of selected parts of civil, commercial, occupational, trade and criminal law related to the conduct of the funeral service.
§ 2
Implementation of balsamation and preservation
Specialised training required under Section 10 (2) of the Act for embalming and preserving
(a) an operating part of a minimum of 260 teaching hours focused on embalming and preservation procedures, on safety and health at work and on technical and operational equipment issues;
(b) the economic part of a minimum of 20 teaching hours aimed at the economy of embalming and preserving, including accounting, price calculation, accounting and tax issues;
(c) a legal part of a minimum of 20 teaching hours aimed at adjusting the treatment of human survivors (1) and knowledge of the selected parts of the foundations of civil, trade and criminal law.
§ 3
Operation of crematorium
Specialised training required under Paragraph 13 (2) of the Act to operate a crematorium includes:
(a) an operating part of at least 40 teaching hours for the disposal of human remains prior to incineration, the incineration of human remains and human remains and their storage in Urenas, the problems of the operation of cremation furnaces and related technical and operational equipment, safety and health at work and environmental protection issues;
(b) the economic part of a minimum of 20 teaching hours aimed at the economy of the crematorium operation, including accounting, price calculation, accounting, remuneration and tax issues;
(c) a legal part in the range of at least 20 teaching hours aimed at adjusting the treatment of human survivors (1) and the knowledge of selected parts of the foundations of civil, commercial, occupational, trade and criminal law and legislation relating to the operation of the crematorium in terms of environmental and energeticy.2)
§ 4
Successful completion of specialised training shall be demonstrated by a document containing:
(a) the registration number of the document;
(b) the name and address of the educational establishment;
(c) details of the applicant (name and surname, date of birth, place of permanent residence, place of stay outside the Czech Republic and place of residence in the Czech Republic),
(d) the name of the field for which the document is issued;
(e) the date of issue of the document;
(f) the stamp of the educational establishment.
§ 5
This Decree shall take effect on 1 January 2002.
