on insurance and amending certain related laws (Insurance Act)
Parliament has decided on this law of the Czech Republic:
Amendment to Act No. 368 / 1992 Coll., on Administrative Charges, as amended
The Annex to Act No. 368 / 1992 Coll., on Administrative Charges, as amended by Act No. 305 / 1997 Coll., Act No. 149 / 1998 Coll., Act No. 157 / 1998 Coll., Act No. 167 / 1998 Coll., Act No. 63 / 1999 Coll., Act No. 166 / 1999 Coll., Act No. 167 / 1999 Coll., Act No. 223 / 1999 Coll., Act No. 326 / 1999 Coll., Act No. 352 / 1999 Coll., Act No. 357 / 1999 Coll., and Act No. 360 / 1999 Coll., is amended as follows:
In item 64, points (a) and (b) read:

In Article 61 of Act No. 48 / 1997 Coll., on Public Health Insurance and amending certain related laws, as amended by Act No. 242 / 1997 Coll., Act No. 2 / 1998 Coll. and Act No. 127 / 1998 Coll., the words "31 December 1999 'are replaced by the words" 31 December 2000'.
Amendment to Act No. 593 / 1992 Coll., on provisions for determining the income tax base, as amended

This Law shall take effect on 1 April 2000, except for the provisions of Paragraph 48 which shall take effect on 31 December 1999.

Sectors and insurance groups
Life insurance sector
1. Insurance only in the event of death, life insurance only in the event of life expectancy, insurance in the event of life expectancy or prior death, insurance in the case of linked lives, life insurance with refund of insurance premiums.
2. Wedding or child-feeding insurance.
3. Pension insurance.
4. Insurance under points 1 to 3 linked to the Investment Fund.
5. Capital activities
(a) the amortisation of capital based on actuarial calculation by which commitments with a fixed duration and a specified amount are accepted against one-off or periodic payments agreed in advance;
(b) management of group pension funds;
(c) activities accompanied by insurance covering the conservation of capital or the payment of minimum interest;
(d) insurance relating to the length of life covered by social insurance legislation where the law allows it to be carried out by the undertaking at its own risk.
6. Insurance in case of accident or illness, if it is complementary to insurance under sectors 1 to 5.
Non-life insurance sector
1. Accident insurance
(a) with one-off filling,
(b) fulfil the nature of the compensation;
(c) combined filling;
(d) passengers.
2. Disease insurance
(a) with one-off filling,
(b) fulfil the nature of the compensation;
(c) combined filling;
(d) contractual health insurance.
3. Insurance against damage to land vehicles other than railway vehicles
(a) motor;
(b) non-motor.
4. Damage insurance on the train vehicles.
5. Insuring damage to air transport.
6. Damage insurance on board
(a) inland,
(b) maritime.
7. Insurance of goods carried, including baggage and other property, regardless of the means of transport used.
8. Insurance against damage to property other than those referred to in points 3 to 7
(a) by fire,
(b) by explosion,
(c) by storm,
(d) natural elements other than windstorms (e.g. lightning, floods, floods);
(e) nuclear energy;
(f) landslide or drop.
9. Insurance of damage to property other than those referred to in points 3 to 7 arising from hail or freezing or other causes (e.g. robbery, theft or damage caused by forest animals), if these causes are not included in sector 8, including insurance of damage to livestock caused by disease or other causes.
10. Damage liability insurance
(a) from the operation of the ground motor vehicle and its trailer;
(b) from the operation of a groove vehicle;
(c) from the activity of the carrier.
11. Insurance of liability for damage resulting from the ownership or use of an air transport vehicle, including the liability of the carrier.
12. Insurance of liability for damage resulting from the ownership or use of an inland or sea vessel, including the liability of the carrier.
13. General liability insurance other than those mentioned in sectors 10 to 12,
(a) responsibility for environmental damage;
(b) liability for damage caused by nuclear installations;
(c) liability for damage caused by a defect in the product;
(d) others.
14. Credit insurance
(a) general insolvency;
(b) export credit;
(c) repayment credit;
(d) mortgage credit;
(e) agricultural credit.
15. Insurance guarantee (bail)
(a) direct guarantees;
(b) indirect guarantees.
16. Insurance of various financial losses
(a) professional activity;
(b) insufficient income;
(c) bad weather conditions;
(d) loss of profit;
(e) fixed costs;
(f) unforeseen commercial expenditure;
(g) loss of market value;
(h) loss of a regular source of income;
(i) other indirect commercial financial loss;
(j) other financial losses.
17. Legal protection insurance.
18. Insurance of assistance to persons in need during travel or stay outside their place of residence, including insurance of financial losses directly related to travel (assistance services).
Non-life insurance groups
(a) "Accident and disease insurance" for sectors 1 and 2;
(b) "Motor vehicle insurance" for sectors 3, 7 and 10;
(c) "Fire and other property damage insurance" for sectors 8 and 9;
(d) "Aviation, inland waterway and maritime insurance and transport insurance" for sectors 4, 5, 6, 7, 11 and 12;
(e) "Damage liability insurance" for sectors 10, 11, 12 and 13,
(f) "Credit and guarantee insurance" for sectors 14 and 15;
(g) "Other loss insurance" for sectors 16, 17 and 18.
