DECLARATION
Minister of Interior
of 20 April 1961
on the official oath of members of the Security Corps of the Ministry of Interior
The Minister of Interior provides, pursuant to § 6 of Act No. 286 / 1948 Coll., on National Security:
Service oath
(1) The members of the Security Corps of the Ministry of the Interior shall, when entering the service, carry out the following duty oath:
"I, a citizen of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, swear allegiance to my country, president, government and all the working people, led by the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia.
I promise that I will always be a brave, honest and disciplined member of the Security Corps of the Ministry of the Interior, that I will keep state and professional secrets and constantly improve my political and professional knowledge. All tasks imposed by law, orders and orders will be carried out consistently and intimately. I will strictly guard socialist legality, protect the results of socialist building, the lives and health of citizens, public order, people's property and the socialist achievements of workers.
I swear that I will always definitely fight the enemies of my country, the enemies of the Soviet Union and other socialist countries.
I promise that I am prepared to spend all my skills and to put my life on the line in the fight for the interests of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, for the victory of peace and communism.
I swear! "
(2) The service oath shall be carried out by confirming the sworn oath by giving the hand to the person who accepts the oath.
(3) Upon completion of the service oath, he shall sign the sworn written text of the oath, bearing the date on which the oath was carried out.
Repeal
Regulation No 171 / 1949 of the Minister for the Interior ("the Minister for the Interior '), which lays down provisions on the obligation of service, on the probationary period, on release at that time and on the authorisation to marry members of the National Security Corps, is hereby repealed.
Efficacy
This decree shall take effect on the day of its publication.
